Dr Jenna Murray De Lopez and Dr Rubina Jasani from the Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI) have been working with Women Asylum Seekers Together (WAST) since May 2017 to conduct PEER (Participatory Ethnographic Evaluation Research) into the impact that WAST has on the lives of the women involved in the group’s work. WAST is an organization established and led by a group of women rejected from the asylum system. They aim to offer sanctuary to others refused asylum. They share their knowledge, experience and document the undocumented. The video highlights how this invisible and transient population organise, campaign and support each other to fill some of the emptiness that each woman feels in her heart.
