The 8 Brocades of Qigong - Tutorial 2 Author: Tabea Heckrodt Added on Fri Jun 05 16:55:00 BST 2020 Duration: 0:02:38 Manchester Confucius Institute developed a series of short tutorials to teach you the 8 brocades of Qigong, also known as Chinese Yoga to promote traditional Chinese wellness practices. Here, Qigong and Tai Chi instructor Dr Amily Wang Guenier demonstrates movement number 3: 调理脾胃须单举 Separate Heaven and Earth and movement number 4: 五劳七伤往后瞧 Wise Owl Gazes Backwards. Movement number 3 stretches the muscles around your digestive organs and stimulates stomach and liver. People who feel depressed and hold bad emotions to oneself, benefit from practicing this movement. Movement number 4 eases tension around your neck and eyes and also heals and nourishes internal organs. Chinese medicine links the internal organs like liver, heart, lung and kidneys to emotions such as joy, anger, worry, fear, grief and sorrow. This movement stretches the chest, abdomen, Ren meridian and Du meridian to protect those organs and emotions.
